Tap water conditioner for well water?

I bought Tetra Aqua, AquaSafe water conditioner today. it says on the bottle "makes tap water safe for fish." then i realized we have well water.... will this stuff still do the job? or should i return it and get something better, i mean it will still protect the fish from harm full metals and maybe there is some chlorine in well water??? plz help :/
