Chemistry Question about nickel(II) sulfate solution?

The green color is from the Ni 2+ or nickel(II) ions. Since the nickel(II) ions are positively charged, they are attracted to the negatively charged terminal. Opposite charges attract each other, in the same way that the "north" side of a magnet attracts the "south" side of other magnets but repels other "north" sides.
