What do you think about the Pentagon banning soldiers from smoking?

I think its one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. I am sick and tired of the government in what ever form telling us what we can and cannot do. Smoking is a choice and it's legal, and I think if you can stand up for your country and defend her rights, you sure as hell should have the right to take a drag if you want too. Also there really does have to be something better to spend tax payer money on then sitting around the room discussing nicotine... isn't there some peace plan they should be discussing or something equally important.
